Collars may cause damage to your dog’s neck

The neck of your dog contains spinal bones, soft tissues including muscles, tendons and ligaments, blood vessels, nerves, oesophagus (food pipe), trachea (windpipe), lymphatic vessels and glands. Basically, very similar to our own necks. When a dog pulls against their collar, it can cause choking, and also damage to these other sensitive structures.

Does your dog pull on his leash?

Pulling on the leash can cause audible choking sounds and run the risk of more serious complications later on in life. Problems that may be aggravated by collar use include intervertebral disc disease and collapsed trachea.
